Indonesian rapper A. Nayaka released a cover of Kanye West’s “Moon”.
Artist ‘Orang Lain’ unveiled the remix on Sunday October 3, where he adds his own verse to the melancholy instrumental of the original song.
In his version of ‘Moon’, A. Nayaka looks back on the friendships he made and lost over the past year. “I had to cut some people off / To keep the circle smaller / Too many snakes and they’re hiding / Tall grass, yes / But the pandemic really showed people’s true colors / It was such a blessing in disguise that we needed “, he raps.
The rapper then switches to the croon of the original hook of “Moon,” which was originally performed by Don Toliver. Watch his interpretation below.
Earlier this year, A. Nayaka released the single “Orang Lain,” which featured fellow Def Jam artists in Southeast Asia, SonaOne and YHB Sleepsalot.
The track was then remixed by Filipino rappers Fateeha and Tiffany Lhei, with a separate “Malaysian remix” by Joe Flizzow, Airliftz and SYA.
Since its debut in 2015, A Nayaka has released two albums: “Cadence Blue” in 2018 and “CARAKACANTINA” in 2020.
In the latest Kanye related news, the rapper intends to launch a ‘DONDA’ tech product line after submitting documents to file the name last month.
According to legal documents, Kanye wants to use the “DONDA” mark on a range of tablets, surround sound systems, smart watches, smart glasses, headphones and other accessories.
