Method Man raps verse in “SNL” musical sketch “Walking In Staten”

Watch Master of Ceremonies Wu join Pete Davidson for a song about their hometown.

When many Hip Hop fans think of Staten Island, the iconic Wu-Tang Clan comes to mind. One of Wu’s members made an appearance in the last episode of Saturday Night Live for the late night show “Walking in Staten”.

SNL Actor and Staten Island native Pete Davidson recruited Marc Cohn and Big Wet for the song on a walk through the New York neighborhood. Method Man later shows up to spit out a verse in the skit.

“Walking in Staten” is a parody of Marc Cohn’s 1991 single “Walking in Memphis”. At one point in the SNL video, Cohn said, “No, I don’t want to be in a parody of my own song. What do you mean, I’m already in it? “

For his part, Method Man shows up to praise his hometown and shoot New York City’s main rival. The 50-year-old rapper / actor raps, “My Yankee hat is a statement and a major in Boston.”

Method Man can also be seen on television as part of the Power Book II: Ghost to throw. The second season of the crime drama Starz aired on November 21.

Additionally, Method Man is executive producer of Wu-Tang: an American saga on Hulu. The Wu-Tang Clan Rise Biography Series closed its second season on October 27.
