Lady Gaga releases new song and music video for “Stupid Love”

Lady Gaga lives for the applause, the applause, the applause – and her Little Monster fan base is certainly applauding now.

The 33-year-old singer-turned-actress returned to her original musical roots with her latest album, “Stupid Love,” which she released at midnight on Friday.

New York-born Stefani Germanotta who is now romantically linked to a Harvard graduate named Michael polansky, caused a sensation in 2018 for her role in Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born”, for which she won an Oscar in 2019 for Best Original Song, “Shallow.”

Outside of film, “Stupid Love” is the singer’s first new solo single since “The Cure” in 2017.

As was the case at the start of her career, with the debut of her music videos “Alejandro” and “Telephone”, Gaga created an expectation for the latter by tweeting a teaser Thursday, which quickly went viral among its nearly 81 million followers.

The video, which she says was shot on an iPhone, shows two men fighting in a desert alien world – until a pink-haired, clad Gaga shows up to end the commotion. Apparently a leader of this planet, she uses the power of her mind to lift the two men into the air before dropping them to the hard ground.

“All I ever wanted was love,” a caption reads as Gaga folds her arms and appears to cry.

“WE ARE FINALLY NOURISHED! A fan account tweeted in response to the teaser.

The song would have leaked online in January, prompting Lady Gaga to respond via Twitter, “can you all stop,” with an image of a masked person listening to music.

“Stupid Love” is the lead single from the upcoming album, her sixth, which would be titled “Chromatica”. Her last album was “Joanne” from 2016.
