We love all the Christmas classics, from “Jingle Bells” and “The Little Drummer Boy” to “Silent Night” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”.
Still, it’s good to be able to add a newly composed holiday tune every now and then to the season’s soundtrack.
And singer-songwriter Chris Tomlin delivered a great one with “Miracle of Love.”
That sweet, sparkling song is more than the best new Christmas song of 2020 – it’s also a song that deserves to be a part of the season’s soundtrack for years to come.
Tomlin, who topped the pop charts with the 2013 album “Burning Lights”, was inspired to write “Miracle of Love” after finding out that – surprise! – he and his wife were awaiting the arrival of another child for Christmas. He was shocked at first, says Tomlin in a video on his YouTube page, but he soon realized that the child was a “precious gift from God”.
The song is the title song of “Miracle of Love: Christmas Songs of Worship”, Tomlin’s new seven song EP (christomlin.com). There’s also a memorable video for the song – with a sweet intro from Tomlin’s daughter Madison, 6, talking about spending Christmas morning with her new baby sister – available on YouTube and other video platforms.
The other songs on the EP are “All The World Awaits (Hosanna)”, “Christmas Day” (with We The Kingdom), “His Name Is Wonderful”, “Little Drummer Boy”, “Hope Of Israel” and “Noel “(with Lauren Daigle).
Fans can also stream Tomlin’s 90-minute holiday special, “Christmas Songs of Worship,” which was filmed at the charming Franklin Theater in Franklin, Tennessee. A 30-day pass costs $ 24.99. For more information on all of these music, video and streaming offerings, visit christomlin.com.
