During an appearance on DJ Akademiks’ Off the Record podcast, Bobby Shmurda was asked if he’d rather have a feature from the late Pop Smoke or Jay-Z.
While popping the question, Akademiks said the hypothetical Pop Smoke collab would be a “smash” and “all of New York City is going to love it.”
“Your nephews, they’re going to go crazy,” Akademiks explained. “Dancing all day; the hood will go crazy for this.
He went on to offer another option, “Or…it’s a song with Hov.”
It didn’t take long before the Brooklyn rapper gave his answer. “Pop Smoke,” Shmurda said without hesitation. “That’s my little nigga,” he added. “I like him. I like Jay too, but I like this.
Meanwhile, Shumurda is gearing up to release her first feature film since her release from prison last February.
The Brooklyn rapper took to Instagram last week to announce his first independent release, They do not knowwhich he says will drop on April 29.
When a fan suggested Bobby wait to post his next offering, Shmurda continued to call out labels for the “blackballer.”
“I have major labels jumping on me, blackballing me and shittttt,” he wrote in the comments section of his IG post. “And I’m from the neighborhood young and rich black as shit and I don’t care [laughing emoji] on both. And they scared me and I love it ishhh. I am only 27 years old, one year for six years, they have 400 employees. Tell them boys stop playing with me Homieee.
