Ayan Mukherji Reveals ‘Inspiration’ Behind Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Astra Verse’


Ayan Mukherji’s Inspiration for Brahmastra: Bollywood director Ayan Mukherji is set to premiere a big budget movie “Brahmastra” starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and several mega stars on September 9.

The film is already creating buzz for its very first concept “Astra Verse” in Hindi film history. In a recent video, Ayan Mukherji revealed his “inspiration” behind the creation of one of the most anticipated “Brahmastra” films.

Ayan explained how his father repeatedly told him ancient tales, sowing the seeds of “Brahmastra” in his subconscious from an early age. He believed that every Indian, in some way, was shaped by Indian philosophy.

Lord Vishnu, Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman and Indian goddesses like Kaali and Durga are some of the legendary figures that Ayan Mukerji spoke of as absolutely fascinating. He admitted that the script was influenced by a number of Hollywood books and movies in addition to Indian culture.

He said he noticed how Hollywood used technology to bring his concepts to life. “The Lord of the Rings” and “Harry Potter” were his all-time favorite books, he said.

He added that as an aspiring filmmaker, he had investigated how the Western film industry had heavily integrated technology to create big-screen spectacles.

For the uninformed, ‘Brahmastra’ by Ayan Mukherji would be the first Indian film based on the universe of ‘The Astraverse’ which will be released in 3 parts.

“Brahmastra: Shiva Part One” is one of the most anticipated movies that Bollywood will release in 5 different languages ​​including Hindi.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film will be presented by SS Rajamouli in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada and will star Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni.
